Basketball Pathways Senior ExecutiveManager

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer CEO

Purpose Statement:

The Basketball Pathways Manager BPM is a critical role within the Basketball Association of Singapore BAS. Under the guidance of the CEO, the BPM will play an essential part in executing youth development plans and enhancing sports participation strategies, aligning with the multi-year sport plan. The BPM's primary focus lies in fostering basketball growth at various stages through collaboration with schools, institutions, Institutes of Higher Learning IHLs, youth coaches, athletes, community partners, and grassroots organizations.

The BPM is tasked with identifying talented young players, ensuring they receive high-quality trning, and facilitating their participation in competitive environments as much as possible. This role requires deep knowledge in sport development, management of sports events and competitions, pathways development leading to high-performance levels, strong communication skills for relationship building, and the ability to work indepently while also collaborating efficiently within a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination:

    • Provide administrative support at BAS meetings, including Board meetings.

    • Develop multi-year sport plans encompassing basketball pathways strategies, articulating them when necessary.

  2. Sport Development Participation:

    • Promote basketball 5v5 and 3x3 formats to increase participation across the board.

    • Work with key strategic partners to implement development and participation initiatives, inspiring nationwide engagement through basketball.

    • Coordinate promotions that enhance sports participation.

    • Offer support for events organized by BAS or orsed stakeholders.

  3. Reporting:

    • Prepare regular reports about youth development plans, progress of initiatives and activities, competition outcomes, as required by Sport Singapore.

    • Mntn an updated database of talented young players and coaches.

    • Ensure timely submissions to relevant bodies.

  4. Calar Planning Budgeting:

    • Develop annual event calars for basketball activities.

    • Manage budgets related to sports events and competitions.

  5. Leadership Roles:

    • Foster leadership, motivation, and drive while working with limited supervision.
  6. Additional Tasks:

    • Undertake any additional tasks as assigned by the CEO.

    • Att meetings and prepare minutes when required.

Requirements:

Applicants with prior experience playing elite-level sports or representing national teams are preferred.
