China's leading basketball league, the Chinese Basketball Association CBA, has initiated a legal action agnst streaming giant Bilibili, demanding compensation of approximately $60.12 million. The CBA accuses Bilibili of copyright infringement for unauthorized broadcasting of games from its 2019-2020 season.

In its lawsuit, the Chinese Basketball Association alleged that Bilibili violated national anti-unfr competition laws by setting up specific sections on their platform dedicated to hosting content related to the CBA. The accusations further state that Bilibili encouraged influencers and creators to upload these games under various schemes associated with their creative activities, thereby committing a direct and deliberate infringement.

The Beijing High People's Court confirmed this filing earlier in July. The court clmed that Bilibili's actions not only infringed upon the rights of the CBA but also violated China's Anti-Unfr Competition Law.

Bilibili's platform featured specialized tabs, channels, and ranking systems dedicated to basketball content. This approach was deemed as a direct and deliberate infringement by the Beijing court's filing, which indicated that Bilibili may have facilitated infringement of the league's copyright through its platforms.
